I was sexually assaulted by an ER tech while alone in my hospital room with him. I reported it after leaving the ER to the hospital and police department. It was a hellacious process after that and I regretted reporting it every day.

The DA refused to prosecute so I had no criminal case and decided to pursue a civil case. I settled out of court and signed an NDA as part of the agreement.

My mediation lasted about 6 hours. I was so mentally exhausted from the whole mediation process that I didn’t even understand the scope of my NDA. I didn’t ask for details as I was just ready for the 6-hour ordeal to be over.

I am unable to warn others about the hospital where this occurred (a large network of hospitals in the southern US).
