I highlighted discriminatory conduct and wrongdoing. The organisation wanted to sweep everything under the carpet and offered money to silence me and leave whereas the wrongdoers were left to continue wrongdoing. I was given one week to decide what to do. It made my blood boil as I was getting a payoff and requested to leave while the perpetrators were being rewarded for acting unlawfully. I felt really bitter and angry to allow the criminals to strike again.
So in effect you can break the law as long as you have deep pockets and risk that the individual does not know their rights or have the resources and support to take it on and hold the organisation to account.
